Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), it is my pleasure to welcome you — distinguished medical practitioners, academics, scientists, and researchers in Ophthalmology — from within and outside Nigeria, to the Kanon Dabo 2025 Conference.
This year’s conference will be held in the vibrant city of Kano from 27th to 29th August, 2025 under the theme: “Ophthalmic Education and Training.”
The annual OSN Conference brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including:
This wide representation offers a unique platform to exchange ideas, share groundbreaking research, evaluate emerging technologies, and foster academic and industry collaboration.
Kanon Dabo 2025 also marks a major milestone — the Golden Jubilee Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN).
The conference will explore two vital sub-themes:
Parallel hybrid sessions will run across key sub-specialties such as Cataract, Glaucoma, Retina, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Oncology, and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
I encourage all participants to take time to enjoy the warm hospitality and rich heritage of Kano — Nigeria’s historic City of Commerce. With a population of over 4 million in the city and 16 million in the state, Kano is known for:
The city remains a hub of trade and tradition, and is home to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
This prestigious event will be held at The Afficent Event Center, located in the heart of Nasarawa GRA, Kano. Surrounded by high-end hotels and supported by excellent road networks and security, it promises convenience and comfort for all guests.
I once again warmly welcome all our eminent professors, academics, ophthalmologists, scientists, and partners from Nigeria and abroad to the greatest OSN event of our time.
Thank you.
